News From the World of Cannabis

NCAA Recommends Allowing Buds For Ballplayers
A National Collegiate Athletic Association committee is formally recommending to the governing bodies of NCAA to end all testing and punishment of cannabis for college basketball players. The recommendation is to remove cannabis from the list of banned substances. About the reason for the recommendation, the committee says the ban 1) “acknowledges ineffectiveness of existing policy,” 2) “affirms that cannabis is not a performance enhancing drug,” and 3) “promotes the importance of moving toward a harm-reduction strategy.”
This is part of a strategy by the committee to “modernize with the most up-to-date research to give schools the best opportunity to support the health of student athletes.” The full story is available here.
